It has been known that Verizon will make a charge of $350 ETF for advanced devices, AT&T recently increased their early upgrade program from $75 to $200m, exclusive for smartphones. Quick messaging and basic phones are not included.

The following passage is from AT&T

“This change to our exception pricing is necessary to maintain our ability to provide customers with the best selection of devices and maintain our leadership in the Smartphone category.”
