How to Pair Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 with Bluetooth Device

Hello Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 new users, you may have known that when you pair your phone with another device, you can, for example, connect your phone to a Bluetooth™ handsfree or a Bluetooth car kit and use these devices to make and receive calls.

Once you have paired your Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 with a Bluetooth device the phone will remember this
pairing. When pairing the phone with a Bluetooth device, you may need to enter a passcode. Your phone will automatically try the generic passcode 0000. If this does not work, see the documentation of your Bluetooth device for the passcode used by your Bluetooth device. You do not need to re-enter the passcode the next time you connect to a paired Bluetooth device.

Some Bluetooth devices, for example, most Bluetooth headsets, require you to also create a connection to the Bluetooth device in order for it to work properly.

You can pair your Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 with several Bluetooth devices, but only connect to one Bluetooth profile at the same time. The following Bluetooth profiles are supported by the phone: Headset, Handsfree, A2DP, AVRCP, and OPP/FTP.

To pair the Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 with another Bluetooth™ device, follow these steps:

Step 1 From the Home screen, tap the applications bar.

Step 2 Tap Settings > Wireless controls > Bluetooth settings.

Step 3 Tap Scan for devices. The Bluetooth devices found will be listed under Bluetooth devices.

Step 4 Select the Bluetooth device that you want to pair with your Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10.

Step 5 Enter a passcode, if required.

Step 6 You can now start using the paired Bluetooth device. The status of the pairing and connection is shown below the name of the Bluetooth device in the Bluetooth devices list.

Make sure that the device you want to pair your Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 with has the Bluetooth™ function activated and Bluetooth visibility turned on!
