To transfer files between the Blackberry Torch 9800 and computer, using the phone as a USB memory drive

When you transfer files between your Blackberry phone and the computer, you should use the BlackBerry Desktop Software to manage and preserve the information, you can also use the encryption that is associated with your media files.

1. Use a USB cable to connect the phone to the computer

2. Do one of the following

If you want to transfer most types of files, you need select the USB option in the dialog box that appears on your device

If you want to transfer media files which are protected with DRM, you should select the media transfer option in the dialog box that appears on your device

3. Enter a password if needed. Then the phone displays as a drive on the computer.

4. Drag a file from somewhere on the computer to a folder on the phone, or the other way round.

Note: please don’t view the transferred file on the Torch unless you disconnect the phone from your computer and find the file.
